#1 Prayer Request-for Grandpa
01-23-2012, 02:53 PM
My Grandpa had kidney failure and is currently on dialysis. He's improving.
When I got home on Friday, I had a message from my sister to call her right away. I did, and she told me that Grandpa was in the hospital, the doctors said he wouldn't live out the weekend, and that he had refused dialysis.
I called her Saturday, because it was her birthday and to see if there was any change-she said, yes, Grandpa decided to take the dialysis, so he's doing better. I guess he wasn't as ready to go as he thought he was.

Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness;
Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!
21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes
And clever in their own sight! Isaiah 5:20-21 NASB

Prayers from me as well Noonwitch!
Grandpa is already blessed, to have a grandchild like you, who cares so much about him.

Glad the hospital convinced him to get his dialysis. Praying that his health improves.

Will do

He's 98 and wants to die at home, not in a hospital or nursing home. But if he can live at home and receive dialysis a few times a week, he'll do it. He does want to make it to 100, just for the sake of living to 100.
My sister told my mom to tell him that dialysis is not the type of treatment that will affect his mental faculties. Once mom assured him of that, he agreed to the treatment. I think his driving days are over, though.
