Opinions, please. Who ordered the muting of the Republican debate audience?

    The network?

    The Republican Party establishment?

Gingrich's campaign advisor complained about it on Ed's show, saying it prevented Newt from connecting with the audience.

This is the first debate in which the audience reactions did not embarrass the Party and show their supporters for the true asshats they are. Somebody had enough and ordered it to end.

Anybody? Speculative and humorous guesses welcomed.

And Thank God for it. The previous debates have been like wrestling matches.

I thought the audience was rather quiet, but then I wondered about the audience being in existence.

How was it that it wasn't common knowledge where this event would be held?

How come one article said it was at the Florida State Fairgrounds, and other articles said it was at USF? Where at USF? Tampa or St Pete? In which building? I read that there were demonstrators outside some place, but were they outside the actual debate?

I feel gypped. I wanted to go. I guess I should have asked those questions more than two hours before the event.

    I'd go with the network.

Their job is to protect and re-elect Obama and they are tired of looking foolish on live TV when the audience cheers against them.
