    You might think so, but Saskatchewan was the first province in Canada to have universal health care, and in the US I think that Alaska's healthcare system is closest to a universal medicare or single payer system.

    Unlike your health insurance? See that's how a healthy system works, we all pay in. What you and every other government paychecker want is for everyone to pay for your healthcare while most of them either do completely without or have crappy, expensive, and iffy coverage some of which is subject to a bunch of papist minions.
