Siberian Brown Bear. Unless a mammoth breathes water, I'd think the 'trunk' would be up. It's a bear carrying a fish.

most likely, but there have been reports of mamoths from far northern Russia. But were at the begining of the 20th century.

There have been a few reports from both Russia and Alaska of what might be a dire bear.
The eskimos called it The God Bear; also seven feet at the shoulder and said to run faster then a horse.
