    (Reuters) - Iran proclaimed advances in nuclear know-how on Wednesday, including new centrifuges able to enrich uranium much faster, a move that may hasten a drift towards confrontation with the West over suspicions it is seeking the means to make atomic bombs.

    It does put a whole different face on the bargaining positions if you you're dealing with someone who really believes he's going to Paradise, Valhalla, or whatever if he dies wiping out your own country.

    True. The Soviets were evil, but they were rational. They wouldn't start a war unless they thought that they would win it. The jihadis just want death, and they aren't particular about how much it takes to get to their Islamic paradise.

    It is hard to know with the Iranian government how much of what they claim they can do is real and how much is propaganda intended to either intimidate other nations. They obviously want a nuclear weapon badly.
