While we were visiting my in-laws this afternoon, my 84-year-old, racist, Republican father in-law said, "I'm going to vote for Obama this time. He's done a pretty good job."

First of all, even liberals don't think that Obama has "done a pretty good joy" (they think he should be even more extreme), and a Republican certainly doesn't think so.

Secondly, if he's voting for Obama he's not racist. But you know liberals.......racist=he didn't vote for Obama last time and he doesn't worship Obama.

I told him I was proud of him.

Liberals are always "proud" when someone makes a decision to vote the way the liberal wants them to.

The father in law wanted to see the expression on her face when he said that.....as he works to keep a straight face.

The father in law wants to get spinbaby off his back and the quickest way is to claim to vote for Obama next time.........and then vote for whoever he wants to?

He's setting her up for the fall when he (father in law) tells her he plans to vote for the Republican.

I had the same reaction. They're on SSI now (his) and I think they figured out that any Repuke candidate is out to trash SS, SSI, Medicare, Medicaid, etc. He rails about 'socialism' but they live on "socialist" SSI. In other words, our tax dollars pay to support their tea bagging butts. Anyway, they said they'd vote for Obama this time. Whether they actually do is another story.

Remind me again of who is demanding Congress cut the only funding to SS in order to buy votes. They always accuse Republicans of wanting to destroy SS while ignoring the guy speeding up its demise.

But actually, he thought as he re-adjusted the Ministry of Plenty's figures, it was not even forgery. It was merely the substitution of one piece of nonsense for another. Most of the material that you were dealing with had no connexion with anything in the real world, not even the kind of connexion that is contained in a direct lie. Statistics were just as much a fantasy in their original version as in their rectified version. A great deal of the time you were expected to make them up out of your head.
