    'Occupy' achieved main goal

Anyone who claims the “Occupy” movement has no clear message is either trying to discredit it or simply isn’t paying attention. This protest always has been about economic injustice and the fact that a small handful of people have corrupted our system in their favor (“Editorial: ‘Occupy’ movement fading out in a whimper“).

The fact that so many elites were alarmed and frightened by the initial outcry (including members of Congress, who are supposed to represent all the people — shame on them!) goes to show that they are in fact living in a house of cards.

USA TODAY’s editorial is right to say that Occupy might lack clear goals on how to move forward, but the movement has accomplished its main original goal: to protest these injustices, not by simply holding a rally and going home, but by keeping the rally going to underscore the seriousness of this problem. Your piece accuses the protesters of sitting around and doing nothing. So maybe they should take up their Second Amendment-sanctioned guns and storm Wall Street and our nation’s capitals. If our country doesn’t change, it could very well come to that one day.

Uh, hate to burst this guy's bubble, but the Second Amendment isn't a license to overthrow the government, and advocating sedition is a quick way to attract the unwanted scrutiny of people with bigger guns and badges. These idiots really seem to believe that they are beyond consequences.

There is that. However in NYC, firearms period, are frowned upon. (Much to the delight of the criminal element) Police don't like dealing with these smelly hippies now, arming them would certainly raise the death toll. And that's BEFORE the cops arrive...
Government is not the solution to our problem, government is the problem.

We could say they are spending like drunken sailors. That would be unfair to drunken sailors, they're spending their OWN money.

Hmm, they're allowed to use their guns to overthrow the country and change it's economic model and yet we're not allowed to defend ourselves against a tyrannical government or anyone else who wants to do us harm. The hypocrisy is strong with OWS.

    And now the first arrest.

(NY Daily News) — This Occupy Wall Street protester is definitely not among the 1% — of brightest Americans.

John Scott DeKuyper arrived for a Wednesday court hearing at the wrong building while carrying a Colt .45 pistol in his leather backpack, police and court officials said.

DeKuyper, 53, was also toting cartridges for the unloaded handgun in his bag when he was handcuffed at the weapon screening area inside 100 Centre St. around 11:30 a.m.
Thank-god their stupid. Else that could have ended badly.

It's time for all the ows people to give it up. If they really want to live in a non-capitalist utopia, they can go down to The Farm in Summerville Tennesee.

Although The Farm is a hippie commune, the people who live there still have to work, usually doing organic gardening tasks.
