Poll: Wisconsin's Walker to survive union recall drive
So much for that recall effort. According to a new Rasmussen poll of likely Wisconsin voters, Gov. Scott Walker should survive an effort to throw out his 2010 election, a campaign driven by pro-union activists angered that he limited collective bargaining rights for public employees in a budget-cutting move.
It’s a huge and positive switch for Scott’s fortunes. Opponents made headlines when they easily collected 1 million signatures on a recall petition. Walker this week said he would not challenge the signatures-including names like “Donald Duck”-because there isn’t enough time before the May recall election.
Rasmussen’s poll is the latest done on the election and finds that 54 percent of likely Wisconsin voters at least somewhat approve of the governor’s job, while 46 percent somewhat disapprove. He does good with independents, as 58 percent approve of his performance. The telephone poll of 500 likely voters conducted Monday shows a pro-Walker move, coming days after a Public Policy Polling survey conducted February 22-26 that found the state divided 49 percent-49 percent on the recall.
Helping Walker has been the state’s improving budget, according to a Rasmussen analysis. A victory in the recall would be a huge blow to liberal union groups who’ve made the Republican governor the GOP posterboy for union busting.

5. Correct. 2. The people who come out to vote in recall elections are the pissed off people.
Much harder to motivate people to get out to keep things the same than it is to motivate people who are pissed off.

2. yes, let's make it sound like a recall is not going to happen--keep people away from the polls.
expect we will see a lot more of the same.SWTORFanatic (6 posts) Profile Journal Send DU Mail Ignore
4. It's even bad for Rasmussen and here's why:
Look at question #2 - no candidate is listed! They might as well have asked "would you vote to recall Scott Walker and put a shoe in his place?"
Wisconsin Survey of 500 Likely Voters
Conducted February 27, 2012
By Rasmussen Reports
1* How would you rate the job Scott Walker has been doing as Governor… do you strongly approve, somewhat approve, somewhat disapprove, or strongly disapprove of the job he’s been doing?
2* A special election will be held to see if voters want to recall Governor Scott Walker and remove him from office. If the special election were held today, would you vote to recall Governor Walker and remove him from office or would you vote against the recall and let him continue to serve as Governor?
NOTE: Margin of Sampling Error, +/- 4.5 percentage points with a 95% level of confidenceIt MIGHT be bad if there actually were a Democrat that was well known that was campaigning. So far all they have is hot air and fear. Besides, they have made it all about union bargaining rights and the budget so we know that the leftists will never let anyone who doesn't agree with those two thing win the nomination.

A Rocky Start for Wisconsin's Two Democratic Candidates for Governor
Who will be the Democratic challenger to Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker when the recall petitions are finally verified and an election is scheduled? So far, there are two candidates who have officially announced for the Democratic nomination - Former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk and current State Senator Kathleen Vinehout. Neither has looked sharp out of the gate, unfortunately.

Suck on it, DUmmies. Embrace the humiliation.

Walker has done very well in rising above the riff-raff on this. It would've been easy to get in the trenches and mix it up with the DUmmies, but Walker's not done that -- to his credit.

The recall Snyder movement in Michigan has pretty much died out, even with the UAW.
Snyder won by a landslide, however, I really don't think the recall movement was going anywhere. On top of that, he's been pretty decent to us state employees. He's been more honest than the previous governor-I appreciate a governor who goes in to negotiations and says "Well, we don't have the money for this, but we can give you that" than one who makes false promises she can't keep.

so the unions bus in rable to rouse, out-of-staters drive in to show their disapproval of something that doesn't concern them. now the left is "suprised" that walker will survive the recall....
clue-by-fourtm time. you can fake the support you claim to have only so long, then you have to use it
wouldn't true supporters of your position have helped your cause in the beginning? the left is truly dain-bramaged....Government is not the solution to our problem, government is the problem.

We could say they are spending like drunken sailors. That would be unfair to drunken sailors, they're spending their OWN money.

People put walker in office for a reason. Despite the union propaganda the state as whole is doing better since Walker took office and the people know that and therefore see no reason to replace him.
The people thankfully see this recall for what it is.

Too bad the DUmmies have figured it out so soon. Would be much better if they were surprised by a failed Walker recall. There would be much head explody and claims of election fraud.
