WHat I don't get is why southern hicks are seen as more worthy of mockery than northern hicks. New England hicks speak a dreadful form of English, are known for being insular and narrow minded, and yet somehow get a free pass? Is it the sweaters?

PS- My doctor got a puzzled look on her face when I said that my cousin had offered to donate a kidney. She said that the chances of a match were slim.
