WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — Could a heart disease pill be the secret to combating racism? According to one study it is.

Researchers from Oxford University released a new study in the international medical journal Psychopharmacology showing that taking propranolol reduces “implicit negative racial bias.”

“Implicit racial bias can occur even in people with a sincere belief in equality,” Dr. Sylvia Terbeck, author of the study, told The Daily Telegraph. “Given the key role that such implicit attitudes appear to play in discrimination against other ethnic groups, and the widespread use of propranolol for medical purposes, our findings are also of considerable ethical interest.”

Thirty-six white people were used in the study, with half getting propranolol and the other half getting a placebo. Researchers then used a feeling thermometer to rate how “warm” they felt toward different groups.

The difference between pigs and people is that when they tell you you're cured it isn't a good thing.

We could say they are spending like drunken sailors. That would be unfair to drunken sailors, they're spending their OWN money.

Tranquilizers probably cure racism, too. If a racist gets a large enough dose, he won't have the energy to hate anything and will become one with the chair.

Having worked in the legal drug development industry and understanding how secondary drug benefits can sometimes emerge during the toxicology and clinical studies portions, this is reaching beyond I've ever seen it.

I guess on this basis, women could probably take Viagra and "feel" less bigoted about pussified males.

Where do you stick that kind of thermometer?

Before you can do things for people, you must be the kind of man who can get things done. But to get things done, you must love the doing, not the people!

I have a suggestion, but I'm not really sure if it's actually the intended usage of the thermometer.
Olde-style, states' rights conservative. Ask if this concept confuses you.

I wouldn't be surprised if your suggestion turned out to be where they do stick it, since it's supposed to measure how good you're feeling. I didn't even know that they made such things. Imagine the commerical uses for husbands who suspect that their wives are faking pleasure.

    What difference would that make?

    Anyone else catch this?

Isn't using only white people in the study, itself, implicit racial bias?

According to the script we are to follow , black people are incapable of true racism.
