Obama always has led in these head-to-head matchups. So that's not news. Gotta wait until the Republicans have a nominee to get real.

We've seen in the primaries polls being wildly wrong the day of the election. I'm convinced polls are just another way for the media to tell you who to vote for.

Basically, yeah. The polls out there for public consumption can pretty much all just be considered push-polls. You can bet your behind that the ones actually running in the races use very, very different polls.
Olde-style, states' rights conservative. Ask if this concept confuses you.

I almost used this exact term. But I think what's happening is even more insidious, because you have the push-poll, and then the media starts putting out self-referential articles. It's like a meta-push-poll.

Outlet 1: Here is a poll showing what we want

Outlet 2: Links to Outlet 1's poll and gives some commentary

Outlet 3: Everyone agrees with the new poll by outlet 1! The other day, Outlet 2 had this to say...

Outlet 1: One last question for you, Candidate X: There was a lot of buzz around the poll we put out last week and your numbers weren't very good. Let me play a clip from Outlet 3 and get your response.
