Jackson said that there is a mistaken assumption in some corners of America that all racial problems went away with the election of President Obama. "There was this feeling that we were kind of beyond racism," he said. "That's not true.
Jesse, Jesse, Jesse...we all know you could never let that happen. You would have to then go out and get a real job.

"Excelled at fake outrage" and "Ability to fly on short notice" are just not in demand these days.

What you are describing is someone who would be considered 'culturally white' by some people, which is not the same thing as being white in practice. In practice, the "brown paper bag test" that New Orleanians talk about applies. Obama most assuredly looks black. Anyone on the street of any race would identify him as black or biracial. A cab driver in New York might sail past him if he's not dressed tight and standing in front of Chase Manhattan Plaza.

As for the New Jersey folks, I don't make the rules just report on them.

"Civil rights leader Jesse Jackson said Friday that he's grateful the rest of the country has sat up and taken notice of the tragic slaying of Trayvon Martin. But he can't help but wonder: Why has it taken so long for everyone else to recognize the chronic injustices that African Americans face?"

Jesse, it is a chronic issue, black on black violence in gang inflicted areas is outrageous. Blacks killing each other over girls, turfs and "disrespect". What do you and President Obama plan on doing about this ?????????????????????????????????????????????????! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!

Talk to me when someone from your state invents something as insignificant as the light bulb.

Why, he asked, isn't America outraged, that far more people die of gun violence in one year in America than the number of soldiers killed in the wars waged in Iraq and Afghanistan?
Isn't that your thing? Isn't that how you make your money? Someone should be asking you that question.

Why has it taken so long for everyone else to recognize the chronic injustices that African Americans face?
Whether this is true or not, isn't this saying that Jesse has basically accomplished nothing for the last 45 years or so.

It's true that in certain neighborhoods, seeing Trayvon walking around at night, might arouse suspicion. Whose fault is that? Are the residents really guilty of racism because they might feel that way?

Jesse, why has it taken you so long to recognize the chronic problems in their culture that African Americans face, and quit blaming them all on outside sources? Why has your leadership been absent on those issues?

Edison was from the wasteland known as Ohio. So much for that line of reasoning. Besides, I am from Maryland.
