Employees sent email earlier this morning.

Yahoo CEO Scott Thompson pledged in a March 14 email to "lean forward" into changing the company's direction. This morning he sent another email, announcing the layoff of 2,000 employees.

Yahoo began its official release with this: "Today's actions are an important next step toward a bold, new Yahoo! -- smaller, nimbler, more profitable and better equipped to innovate as fast as our customers and our industry require."

It goes on to boast of nearly 700 million users and thousands of advertisers.Layoffs had been rumored since Thompson took over about four months ago.

In that March 14 email, Thompson emailed employees about "real change" that's coming -- an attempt to "soothe the company" during executive departures and proxy fights, as Kara Swisher wrote.

Real "change" eh? Sounds familiar. Is this the liberal version of "trickle down"?

Yep, real change from your change jar to see if you have enough to buy gas to look for work.
Unsurpassed prosperity for a century is now behind us, welcome to the progressive dream.

Instead of trickle down wealth creation, we now have trickle down misery and financial dislocation creation.

    Mao's GREAT LEAP FORWARD
Food, distributed by the spoonful in collective canteens according to merit, became a weapon to force people to follow the party's every dictate.

We are living Obama's hope and change. Obama wants to set a historical goal for his presidency...and he is succeeding.

I've no particular love for Yahoo--they're just as guilty as anyone for the crap they spew as "news"--but that really sucks for those 2k people who just got laid off.

It was just an eventuality than finally came about. In the scheme of things Yahoo was still a young upstart of a company. Grew to fast and at the same time was losing market share to competition. To a company the size of yahoo 2,000 employees a drop in the bucket, but yea it's sucks to be one of the 2,000.
The 21st century. The age of Smart phones and Stupid people.

It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.

Just imagine if all these layoffs were announced on Bush's watch. MSM and liberal outrage would be centerstage. Hospitals nationwide are laying off thousands in advance of Obamacare...and nothing, not a peep from the usual libtards about it.

I think we've just become a bit hardened, at accepting these large lay offs.
