I've been watching this eagle's nest for some time.
The babies have hatched out and it's pretty neat to
watch the mama taking good care of them.

What really amazes me is this nest is 6 feet across.
I am 5'4" so that means I could lay fully stretched
out across this nest and my feet and head would be
fully inside not touching the edges. Thinking about
that puts the size of this eagle in perspective.

Take a look, show your kids and grandkids:

Oh man! I missed it. I haven't caught them yet both there at the same time. It's easy to see why we picked the eagle to represent our USA. The most awesome bird ever. So big, majestic, mean looking but also family oriented and into private home ownership.

What is the history of this male and female?
They have been together since the winter of 2007-2008. Her markings at that time indicated that she was about 4 years old. They successfully hatched and fledged 2 eaglets in 2008, 3 in 2009, 3 in 2010, and 3 in 2011.
