Senator appears to call Obama 'stupid' over health care
A Republican senator appears to have called President Obama "stupid" over his recent comments on the Supreme Court's heath care case.
Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, employing the unique writing style he uses on Twitter, sent out this message yesterday: "Constituents askd why i am not outraged at PresO attack on supreme court independence. Bcause Am ppl r not stupid as this x prof of con law."
That last line translated: "Because American people are not stupid as this ex-professor of constitutional law."
Obama, who is indeed a former law professor, said last week that he expects the Supreme Court to uphold the health care law, and that an adverse ruling would constitute "judicial activism" by "unelected" justices.
Grassley deals with Supreme Court issues as the top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Grassley is only telling the truth ... something most politicians can not or will not do these days. Kudos to him. And Maobama was no professor (too bad Fox News feels compelled to perpetuate this lie). He was merely a lecturer, about two steps up from a graduate school assistant. He never taught "Constitutional Law". He taught a single class on the 14th Amendment.
But Im sure he makes the American Criminal Liberties Union proud.
