The difference between pigs and people is that when they tell you you're cured it isn't a good thing.

1825 - Dilue Rose Harris was born in St. Louis, MO. Her family moved to Texas in 1833. She made bullets for men going to the Alamo and took part in the Runaway Scrape. Her memories were published in the "Quarterly of the Texas State Historical Association" and are a primary source for early Texas history.

1894 - In Austin, TX, the first issue of the weekly newspaper Rolling Stone was published. The paper was published by William Sydney Porter who was better known as O. Henry. Yes, this was mentioned here lately - the first issue was 4/28/1894, the last 4/27/1895.

1900 - In McMahan, TX, the Southwest Texas Sacred Harp Singing Convention was organized.

1933 - Carolyn Jones was born in Amarillo. She went on to become a Hollywood star, appearing in about 30 movies, including "The Seven Year Itch" in 1955.

It's not how old you are, it's how you got here.
It's been a long road and not all of it was paved.
Live every day as if it were your last, because one of these days, it will be.
