Out of those 50 care to guess how many were from England and how many from the USA. If you guessed 0 from England & 50 from the USA you would be correct.

Americans are by and large a spoiled society, some deservedly so some not so deservedly. The avg poor american enjoys a higher standard of living than the middle class of most countries of the world. The US was the first country and remains one of only a few in the world where your station in life isn't determined at birth. Warts and all it's still the best game going.

Edited to add: I was mistaken a few of the 50 were invented outside the US but not in England.
Sir Tim Berners-Lee and Alec Jeffrey may beg to differ.

A professor at MIT, Cambridge, MA is in the US. On Jeffrey I stand corrected.
The 21st century. The age of Smart phones and Stupid people.

It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.

Berners-Lee moved to the US but he invented 'the internet' before he moved.

I've visited the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium. Both of the former were wonderful. Kinda small but lovely too. Most people in the Netherlands praised the US for saving them during the war (the older people did, the younger people were punk rocker types). Germany is beautiful. Belgium was bogus, the shop keepers tried to rip us off at every turn by giving wrong change for example.

The US is #1, but that doesn't mean I hate everyplace else.
Having Benton Harlem er... Harbor in your backyard on the sunset side of the state does not give one much room to criticize.

Packet Switching is elegant but all in all I would argue the Internet is poorly designed.

extremely so but I thought that was owlboring's fault.
It's not how old you are, it's how you got here.
It's been a long road and not all of it was paved.
