DU membership is now a mandatory $60 per year. no more "donations" This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by tkmorris (a host of the General Discussion forum). annual membership needs to be renewed so looked into that and seems like the process has changed since a year ago. worth the $$ I suppose as DU is a for-profit business web site, and membership gets rid of the ads for things I will never use in a million years, especially all those ads for republicans and their agenda. just see that the format is different.

We could make that deal for a whole lot less than $60 a person for those who don't want to see ads. Those ads pay very, very little, don't begin to nearly cover the costs. That DU guy is a businessman, though, $60 a year. Wow! I don't think it's worth it, but maybe I'm prejudiced against DU.
