Rock, I heard it was near Tulsa. Are those fires anywhere near you? It's like a punishment from God, this heat. The libs blame everything on guns and the tea party. Maybe we can blame Obama for his various positions that go against religion and specific teachings of many churches. (I know this makes as much sense as that floating finger of blame always pointing at the tea party, but what the heck, sometimes being illogical is fun).

Seriously, hope you get some rain soon.

It's been so hot in St Louis that my sister, the world's greytest shopper, is staying home in the AC.

It started 35 miles away, it is so tinder dry and there is so much fuel in the undeveloped land that they travel fast and have everyone nervous, supposedly someone started this by throwing burning newspapers from a car so it was set purposely.
This is the big one, there are many more small ones everywhere.

    Be careful and watchful.

Man, anyone who would start those fires should be "introduced" to one...if you know what I mean.

Hope they catch whoever did this.

We had about 43 drops of rain this morning, most of it landed on my head and glasses but nothing else got wet, I quickly checked to make sure it wasn't blue.

According to the news tonight the fire was started by someone burning trash, they did it during a burning ban but since it started on Indian land they are not sure if charges will be filed, hundreds of homes burned and there is a question about this?
Indian land here is wherever their is a smoke shop or casino.

We had a 3.0 earthquake at 4:47 am, I thought we had another at 10:00 am while I was in the bathroom but that woman didn't have the washer balanced.

Everytime I seen the news of the fires in OK my heart sank as I thought about you. I am happy you, your wife and friends are safe.

Looks like a tad under a half inch of rain...

Parts of Las Vegas rec'd .34 inches.
    The Vegas strip rec'd .04.
Where I live.....high winds and humidity. It's hot. No rain.

.34 is a lot and enough to start flash floods. The earth is so hard and dry the rain has to no place to go. They do have good storm sewers that keep up when the rain starts to run off the mountains. My town does not and has had houses cave in, brand new homes...I don't live in any of the risk areas.

Up until June, YTD rainfall was .24 inches. Very dry.
