My back yard is flooded. The groud is so dry and hard the rain has no place to go.
We are having a thunderstorm.
My trees will be happy!
Parts of my town have had rain but not my part. Of course my town is 25 square miles, so that happens.
Las Vegas is under a flash flood warning from last night until 9 AM today. They had some campgrounds near the mountains that were getting flooded.
A couple days ago one neighborhood in Las Vegas. had a rain cloud that produced .83 of rain in less then 30 minutes...which flooded the streets. Some parts of town never took into consideration that it rains in the desert! The newer parts of town are set up pretty good for flood control.
It's nice turning the a/c off and having the front door open.
We have had rain and this picture was taken and submitted to the local newspaper.
It was taken last night at the south end of my town. Pretty rare for Nevada.
We are still way behind on rainfall, it was supposed to rain the last two days but so far only a dribble. The chances are 70% today unless they changed the forecast overnight.
We got nearly an inch this afternoon!!

I got another 2" Sunday morning and predictions of more for the week.
It's been hot during the day with record temperatures almost everyday, and that is after the earliest hard freeze in recorded history, we are in another drought but they say the temps will drop and 90% rain chances tomorrow.
What the hell is normal like? I have no idea what side of the scale winter will be on.
I'm wagering we're gonna have a harsh winter. The jet it pushing way south this early in the fall it's gonna be pretty wicked once the transition season is done and the pattern gets established.
