How do you know, we have only recorded temps for 120 years or so?

I have to be very very quiet, it's raining and I don't want to scare it off! I'm pretending not to notice.

Good for you.....we just toured northern Missouri, and parts of eastern Iowa a week or so, and the corn is gone.....it's already dying in the fields with little or no ear development. Soybeans have faired a bit better as they are generally planted later, but unless we get significant rain soon, they won't make much either.

NOAA is stating that this is the worse drought this area has seen in 50 years.......

No relief in sight, just forecast for 100+ temps for the next ten days.......

Hotter than hell and dry as a bone, I saw a robin today pulling a worm out of the ground with a pot holder.

Yep - I know what you mean. Last simmer our chickens were laying hard-boiled eggs.
It's not how old you are, it's how you got here.
It's been a long road and not all of it was paved.

Several of the local beaches were closed due to high bact. counts from all the runoff.

Looks like the rain is over till the storms fire up again tomorrow.

Hot hot hot and hot! I was unloading some deep well pump motors today and the driver said he hadn't been up on this hill since old so and so dealt drugs here, he then said "the dam fool blew his own lawyer up in his car" I asked if it was a nice car and he said " yep, a Mercedes, she had a lot of miles left on her, damned shame"!
