When you’re producing the fifth season of a show notable mainly for bloody pornography, how do you keep viewers interest up? Evil conservatives!

That’s exactly what HBO’s filthy, sex-obsessed vampire series “True Blood” is doing for its June 10 premiere. Creator Alan Ball told TVLine.com to expect a "church and state" theme for the season.

“True Blood’s” new season features a vampire extremist group called “The Sanguinistas,” who derive their name from the Latin word for blood. They believe humans were created by God to be farmed like cattle, and exist only to serve as a vampire’s meal. Alan Ball said his inspiration for the group came from watching the "scary in their own right GOP primaries."

“My first instinct about going into religion and politics was from watching Michele Bachmann, who thinks she has a direct line to God. What would happen if she became president? A lot of right-wingers would like to see a theocracy in America. From there we thought, ‘What would a vampire theocracy be and how would you justify it? What kind of impact would it have on humans?’” Ball told Entertainment Weekly.

This isn’t the first time lefties have slandered the GOP with the word “vampire.” In a political attack ad the Obama campaign referred to Mitt Romney as a vampire. Obviously it backfired.

Of course, if Ball is looking for more believable example of violent parasites, he might try Occupy Wall Street for inspiration.
I've never even heard of this show.

rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

We have had true Christians as presidents since the union has formed but amazingly none has forced a theocracy on us, every time a socialist is in office we have more socialism forced down our throats. These people should crack a book.

Seen it advertised but never watched it. Since the Sopranos ended, we've got HBO mainly for boxing for me, and my wife has a few movies she watches. HBO is pretty pathetic these days.

If we're vampires, then they're going to need a really, really, really big stake come November.

I don't think they can find one big enough, or make enough of them.

They will use the rain forests to make extra paper cups for New York.

Well, if we're vampires, then liberals are zombies and we all know which one will come out on top of that fight....

Alan Ball is also as gay as they come so this attitude doesn't surprise me. I enjoyed season 1 but each subsequent season has gone down in quality. Season 3 and 4 were nothing but shoving deviant homosexual behavior down our throats. In the show's opening, there is a sign that reads "God Hates Fangs" an obvious reference to the WBC. Also, the entire show's run had made Christians look like bigoted closed minded psychos, which is laughable given the object of the vampires makes the Christians(Church of the Sun to be exact) were not only spot on in their fears but they were the actual good guys to anyone with 2 brain cells. Well, since Ball wants to continue to politicize the show, I will not be watching. Not going to miss it either. The last 2 seasons sucked on ice and this one looked boring.
