I am a proud Conservative and I hate Dog Catchers.

Personally, I'm really becoming offended by the artsy-fartsy crowd who seem to be moving into this area at an alarming rate. I think they're trying to turn us into another Taos, or Santa Fe.

I think a better question would be "why do many on the left project their hatred on conservatives?"

They seem to view everything through a lens of hate. To disagree with a lib is to hate them. For example: disagree with a liberal homosexual and you are a homophobe
disagree with the ability for women to get abortions on demand, you hate women
disagree with obama's agenda, you are a racist
disagree with unlimited welfare and you hate the poor and homeless
disagree with with socialistic policy and you hate patriotic libs

One doesn't even have to disagree with something, them merely have to express support for something libs are against and you hate

support conservative talk radio and you endorse hate speech
support the pro-life movement and you endorse the hatred of women
support a conservative candidate and you hate the government, clean air, clean water and the environment
support traditional marriage and you hate homosexuals

Those on the far left acknowledge no middle ground and that is why they are doomed to live a unhappy existance blaming everyone for their failure to entice those in the middle to vote their way. Occassionally they manage to fool people in to thinking they're in the middle as Obama managed to do but now that the far left cat is out of his leftiest bag he has no hope with those whose views lay in the middle.

In the end all they have is their hate to comfort them, but being libs they know that hate is a negative emotion so they project that feeling on their opponents in order to feel justified as they live out there miserable, hateful narrative.

Why the right hates teachers, firefighters and cops.

Teachers are smarter, firefighters are braver and stronger and cops are authority figures.

I've mentioned my encounters with folks on the right before on DU...one said of firefighters "It's God's will, some houses will burn." And of cops "I get my public safety from the barrel of a gun."

Many of these folks home school their kids because they think they are better teachers and they can control what their kids learn.

So, there you have it in a nutshell: mistrust of learning, distrust of authority and jealousy of those who risk their lives for others.

Not a pretty picture.

Are you finished? Well, allow me to retort.

Some are, some aren't. We may not like the fact that education in this country has gone to the toilet but we certainly don't hate teacher. Hate that they push their political ideology on a captive audience, yes. Hate that some actually have the audacity to not grade fairly if a student dares have an independent thought of their own considering politics. Other than that, I admire teachers. They really have a tough job and some of them really try to get through while some just do it for summers off.

You are such a fucking liar that it's really quite sad. You find me one person who ever said this. Just one. Not some bullshit you heard in your little drum circle over there but someone of importance and provide links but you won't because you can't because you know you're a fucking liar. Contrary to you and your ilk, all of us, at least here, admire firefighters a great deal for their bravery so chalk this one to another DUmmie lie.

Not only is this a lie but this one is really laughable. Putting aside that I, myself, am in law enforcement as was my father and older brother and most of my friends, we don't "get our public safety from the barrel of a gun" however, we, unlike you and your ilk, realize that cops can't be everywhere and in the oft chance that someone should break into my house or accost me on the street, the perp(people you and your ilk seem to admire and really sympathize with for some reason) isn't going to wait while I call the police so instead of getting stabbed or shot myself, I choose to protect myself. As for hating cops in general, so what you're telling me that all of those stooges in the OWS movement are right wingers? Who'd have thunk it.

Really, these people are complete jokes and this post just goes to prove.

I find it difficult to believe that the poster who claims to have conversations with the"right" on DU is truthful since any that questions the left is immediately banned.

Everyone who lost money in their retirement accounts in the last 10 years or so have pension envy-the government guarantees the pensions of their employees, but not the private sector's retirement plans.


As a government employee, I really don't make as much money as conservative politicians imply. Yes, I make more money than the assistant manager at Mickey D's, but a college degree is not required to be an assistant manager at Mickey Ds.

Keep believing that when the unfunded liability bills come due and the state coffers are dry.

Um, I don't know about Michigan but no pension is guaranteed in NJ. Especially considering that the government has been raiding the pension system for years without paying back a dime. I have 12 more years to do and I fear that there is going to be nothing in the pension system to allow me to retire but considering my professions, I will be forced into it at age 65.
