#1 Occupy Oakland protests in FAVOR of child sex trafficking

Link
On Wednesday, June 13, members of the Occupy movement protested against a conference dedicated to combatting child sex trafficking — thus, the Occupiers in essence were coming out in favor of one of society’s most loathsome moral crimes.
The protesters mostly were members of Occupy Oakland Patriarchy, a group within the overall Occupy movement tasked with overthrowing our civilization’s “patriarchy.”
The conference which so infuriated them was called HEAT Watch, short for the National Human Exploitation And Trafficking Watch Conference.
If there’s one issue that unites Americans of all political stripes, it’s the sexual enslavement of children. Whatever our opinions on other issues, we all agree that sex trafficking and the prostituting of children is an outrage and a tragedy. Thus, conference attendees included liberal, moderate and conservative politicians; progressive nonprofit organizations; law enforcement groups; religious leaders; and (according to the conference Web site) “social services, medical providers, mental health, education, probation, and community-based organizations.” In short: Everybody.
Everybody, that is, except Occupy Wall Street, who somehow found a way to oppose the abolition of child sexual slavery. In order to justify this seemingly incomprehensible and repugnant position, the Occupiers performed some of the most amazing moral gymnastics you’ll ever encounter. I’ll give them a lot of room to explain themselves in a moment, but first let’s get a glimpse of the conference, the protest, a small counter-protest, and the completely bizarre behavior of the Occupiers.Good men sleep peaceably in their beds at night because
rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

I think that Occupy originally had a cross section of people: those who love a good protest, sincere students and latter day hippies, the mentally ill and otherwise unoccupied, political fringe, criminal fringe.
Then came many Monday mornings and with each one, the higher orders of participants fell away. Now Occupy has nothing left but the mental defectives, druggies, criminal and political fringe. Rather like long ago, after Joan Baez and the students of the California universities had departed, all that we left were burn outs who had been hiding inbetween the rows.
It's important to remember that these are the Second String whackjobs of Oakland, the ones who can't manage to live in Berkeley or SF. It's like being the head of the SDS chapter in Taliquah.While you were hanging yourself , on someone else's words

Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness;
Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!
21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes
And clever in their own sight! Isaiah 5:20-21 NASB

Depakote Sprinkles. In their water supply. Today.
When cops take child prostitutes into custody, they are not arresting them nor are they harrassing them. They are protecting them, usually from a drug addicted parent who is pimping her own children to pay for her damned heroin. This is a whole new level of stupidity on the part of OWS, which had sunk pretty low before this.

What you have described is a cross section of the radical left, not of America as a whole. It's the gamut of our politics from left to far left, and has nothing to do with the rest of America.
The cross section that you described above consisted of mental defectives, druggies, criminals and the far left political fringe. The only difference is that the ones who had something to do besides camp out left to go back to their jobs at Kinko's or grading term papers for their profs.
I hate to break it to you, but these are the varsity. There is no second string, because these groups are an inch deep. The OWS movement was always made up of a cadre of professional activists and radicals, the Berkeley and SF clowns who manage to eke out a living by being in a movement. In NYC, we used to see them hanging out at Revolution Books (if not outright staffing the place) and otherwise being a nuisance between protests. This is the face of Occupy, and it's never been more than it was when it started.
The proof of this, BTW, is that the A-list activists at ACORN were perfectly happy to give advice on how to milk the system in order to set up a brothel staffed by captive children. That was the outrage that O'Keefe filmed and which got their funding cut off. The left doesn't have a problem with the sexual exploitation of children, women, or anything else, because the left is about exploitation, sexual or otherwise.--Odysseus

Pretty much. Look at the anti-war movement of the Vietnam era. Most of those people went on to boring lives of having children and saving for orthodontics and college. All that's left is a handful of psychedelic relics in a tent across the street from the White House.
