Spare the rod, spoil the child. This is a product of liberalism. This is what happens when more attention is given to how a child feels rather than teaching them to be responsible human beings. Thanks to liberal ideals, people can be as disrespectful as they want because there are no consequences. The Obama Administration: Deny. Deflect. Blame.

Bad parents come in all political stripes. Both my siblings are liberals who don't spank their children and both have good kids who would not only refuse to be involved in behavior like this, they would speak up against their peers and try to stop them from their cruelty. Both of my siblings and their spouses have raised their kids to care about other people, and to understand that just as other people's words can hurt them, their words can hurt other people.
The kids should be banned from the bus for a term/semester, and given a Saturday suspension with intense community service work (cleaning up dog shit from a public park is appropriate) for each tardy they get during that time. No parental excuses will be accepted for tardiness, as the child should be getting up early enough to walk to school, rain or shine.
Punishment of children needs to be creative and appropriate to the circumstances, but in no way allow the adults to get on the same level as the kids.

There is a lot of profanity and other nasty stuff. It's all over the news.
