The United Nations on Thursday called for a tax on billionaires to help raise more than $400 billion a year for poor countries.
An annual lump sum payment by the super-rich is one of a host of measures including a tax on carbon dioxide emissions, currency exchanges or financial transactions proposed in a UN report that accuses wealthy nations of breaking promises to step up aid for the less fortunate.
The annual World Economic and Social Survey says it is critical to find new ways to help the world's poor as pledged cash fails to flow.
The report estimates that the number of people around the globe worth at least $1 billion rose to 1,226 in 2012.
Could you just guess at the corruption this would cause????May the FORCE be with you!

There are 1226 billionaires in the entire world of 7 billion people, and the UN wants to confiscate a portion of their money and redistribute it? And they want to do this because "pledged cash" didn't arrive?
OK. I looked it up. 412 of those billionaires are American; about 100 Chinese and 100 Russians. So, really, it is an attack (again) on American interests.
There is nothing - absolutely nothing - like a born bureaucrat.

I think as a first step, they should probably spend the money they DO get in a less wasteful manner. What humanitarian conflicts has the UN ever solved... ever.
Its like a kid going "I blew all my rent money on booze. Mom, Dad... I demand more rent money because I'm going to the club this weekend"

They should disband the UN - or at least throw them out of the states and make them meet elsewhere on their own nickel. It's not how old you are, it's how you got here.
It's been a long road and not all of it was paved.

Before you can do things for people, you must be the kind of man who can get things done. But to get things done, you must love the doing, not the people!

Hating America has been a fad for sometime now, problem is, people in America have the freedom to speak poorly against the country, whereas the countries the Anti-America people think are so great do not have the same freedom of speech, so basically the Anti-American's only hear how awesome those communist/dictator and socialistic countries are i.e Cuba, Venezuela, China, North Korea, etc.

Aye Carumba. Is this the answer for everything anymore? Damn.
And they want to raise this money to fight poverty. Guess what numnutz, it ain't working. You've been throwing gobs of money at the problem for years and your policies are not working. Come up with a new plan. I'll be glad to help. For free. Or pay me the ceremonial $1 a year thing. I don't care. Just stop thinking that taxing the shit out of people is going to solve anything.Be Not Afraid.
