1716 - The Domingo Ramón expedition founded the Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe de los Nacogdoches Mission. The mission was permanently abandoned in 1773. In 1779, the abandoned buildings were used to form the center for the settlement of Nacogdoches.
1857 - A stage coach carrying mail left San Antonio for San Diego in what was said to be the first transcontinental mail and passenger service, known as the "San-San."
1948 - Ground was broken for the Bonham Veterans Administration Hospital. The first patient was admitted in November 1951.
1968 - The first All-Star baseball game to be played indoors took place at the Astrodome in Houston, TX.It's not how old you are, it's how you got here.
