#1 DNA Said to Link Occupy Wall St. Protest and 2004 Killing07-11-2012, 02:29 AM
DNA recovered from a chain at the site of an Occupy Wall Street protest in March has been matched with DNA linked to the unsolved killing of a Juilliard student in 2004, law enforcement officials familiar with the case said on Tuesday. Enlarge This Image

Sarah Fox, a Juilliard student, was found strangled in Inwood Hill Park in upper Manhattan in 2004. The killing was never solved.
The student, Sarah Fox, 21, disappeared while on a jog in Inwood Hill Park in May 2004, and her naked body was found in the park almost a week later surrounded by yellow tulip petals. The DNA on the chain from the New York protest, the officials said, was matched with DNA found on her portable compact disc player, which was found in the park several days after her body was discovered. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/07/11/ny...&smid=tw-share

Salt of the earth these people. The difference between pigs and people is that when they tell you you're cured it isn't a good thing.

They will probably catch the killer. There are less and less needle in haystack situations these days, with this type of technology. If the killer's DNA is in the federal databank, they will catch him that way. If they have to use video footage from the protests to get a suspect and warrant, they can match it that way.

Sounds kind of weak on the connection to the actual killing from the minimal details in the story. Whoever the DNA came from would certainly be a material witness, of course.
