Explaining Obama's Ressentiment
Unearned success is the central theme of his life story.
The Romney campaign is out with a very effective new ad illuminating and responding to President Obama's disparagement of individual achievement. The ad constructs a dialogue between Obama and Jack Gilchrist, a political independent who is president of Gilchrist Metal Fabricating Co., a small industrial concern conveniently located in the swing state of New Hampshire.
First we get a medley of Obama quotes sneering at the successful, then a response from Gilchrist, who is shown in various settings: on the factory floor, in his home, with his son and a portrait of his late father.
> snip >
Obama recently said his biggest shortcoming as president was that he has failed to tell the electorate "the story that tells us where he's going." But he's certainly told a story: a story in which he has personally achieved great things, like saving Detroit and killing Osama bin Laden, whereas everything that's gone wrong is the fault of somebody else--George W. Bush, congressional Republicans, corporate jet owners, etc.
The problem with this story is that it is manifestly untrue. Obama not only has failed to deliver on the extravagant promises--world peace and racial harmony and receding oceans and free medical care for all. He has fallen short even of a minimal standard of political and governmental competence.
What is the root of Barack Obama's ressentiment? Why does he insist that men like Jack Gilchrist don't deserve their success? Not because they are successful. Even if Obama loses in a landslide, he will have enjoyed more success than most people can dream of in a lifetime.
No, Obama resents their modest success precisely because they did earn it.

Some of you probably think the word in the headline is supposed to be 'resentment' (I did). Here is the definition:
1. Any cautious, defeatist, or cynical attitude based on the belief that the individual and human institutions exist in a hostile or indifferent universe or society.
2. An oppressive awareness of the futility of trying to improve one's status in life or in society.

The 'you didn't build that' accusation comes from a man who really didn't accomplish anything in his life. In spite of writing books about it!
Voted "Present". Blamed others. That's not an accomplishment.

Obama has done nothing but hand Romney ammunition on a silver platter for months. If he doesn't use that to his advantage then he's in the tank for Obama to get re-elected. It's time the GOP slings as much mud as the Democrats do.

Mud my ass, they need to roll mud it into big basketball size pieces, dry it out, shove it down a cannon and lauch it back at em at 1000 feet per second.
Obama: Where's your tax records?
Romney: Fuck you Hussein, where's your college transcripts!
Obama: When did you work for Bain Capital?
Romney: Eat shit Barry, community organizer is not a JOB!
Obama: Your too rich to understand the middle class.
Romney: The middle class don't eat DOGS!Give a liberal a fish - he will eat for a day
Teach a liberal to fish - he will come back tomorrow wanting more free fish!

Romney: Not A Gaffe, An Ideology
I think one of the replies says it all:
Obama is a typical third world banana republic demagogue. His supporters are serfs who sell their liberty on the cheap, in exchange for welfare crumbs. Obama supporters are beneath contempt and a cancerous tumor in American society.

Pro-Romney super PAC comes to the rescue on Bain attacks
American Crossroads, a super PAC supporting Mitt Romney's presidential campaign, announced Thursday a plan to spend $9.3 million on an ad campaign that defends Romney against President Barack Obama's criticisms of his business record.
The 30-second ad, which will run in nine swing states and begin airing on Friday, claims that Obama is targeting Romney's time as CEO of Bain Capital is an effort to distract from his own record during his first term as president.
"Barack Obama can't run on that record," a woman's voice says in the ad.
The price of the ad buy--$9.3 million--is more than Priorities Action USA, the main super PAC supporting Obama, raised in the entire month of June.

I guess that Barack Obama has managed to tick off so many people through his deprecating, absolutely insulting remarks that perhaps the money supply is starting to dry up a bit.
His other problem is how obvious he and his minions are. Last night turned off coverage in complete disgust when the locals out in Aurora, Colorado kept rhapsodizing about the marvels of Eric Holder. Nothing like politicizing 12 people killed. It was disgusting to see all the local pols, anxious to get their mugs on TV.

I don't know if this has been posted anywhere yet, but watching the NBC Nightly News last night (yes some people still watch it lol) Romney was being interviewed by Brian Williams in London. Williams was trying to be funny I guess, and says to Romney: Will You Pick An “Incredibly Boring White Guy” For VP? – Romney To Williams: “You Told Me You Were Not Available”
It was funny.Good men sleep peaceably in their beds at night because
rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.
