I've always been called a miser/cheapskate/spendthrift , I'll comparison shop for a deal.
In Texas for every $12 in savings you also save a $1 in taxes. The 21st century. The age of Smart phones and Stupid people.
It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.

We planned carefully for our retirement, which was Dec, '10.
Our retirement was seamless with spending not changing at all. We may spend a little less because I'm home more.
Careful planning: I recommend it for everyone.

No. I work a high-ish paying job in Montreal. I have never had expensive tastes, but I like to travel. This year it's between Iceland and Prague.
I'm in a good industry. My skills will be in demand for the foreseeable future. The only thing about the world economy is that I'd like to start my own company, and frankly capital has to be flowing for that. Nobody ever got rich working for someone else!
