It was on this day in 1973 that Jim Croce and Maury Muehleisen died in a plance crash.

He wrote and sang sad and romantic ballads and funny character songs. I really liked him a lot.

Hey careful man! There's a beverage here!

Okay, the singer Janis Joplin and this song, Me and Bobby McGee, have something in common with Jim Croce and the Song Time in a Bottle.

And with another song i will post later. See if you can guess..

    For now, enjoy:

Hey careful man! There's a beverage here!

    Okay:

Jim Croce Time in a Bottle

Janis Joplin Me and Bobby McGee

Otis Redding Dock of the Bay

What do these all have in common? (Songs and Singers?)

Hey careful man! There's a beverage here!

I think they were all hits after the artist died, weren't they? Croce was a great song writer. His music always takes me back to some special years in my life.

The 21st century. The age of Smart phones and Stupid people.

It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.

They were not only hits, but they were Number One hits that hit Number 1 after the artist died.

    Good One Lager.

    Another Favorite Croce song:

Hey careful man! There's a beverage here!

I love Jim Croce. I wonder what his music would have been like, had he lived? Would he still be making music today?

Another favorite of mine, from the same era was Cat Stevens. His music died, just like Croces, only his died because he converted to that stupid religion that did not allow him to play his guitar. I miss both of them.
