Like a lot of people have mentioned, I stopped giving to the United Way a long time ago.
May the FORCE be with you!

You can't tell him to save himself for marriage. So you see that it's people like you who erode the fabric of society, not the gay kid who just wants to be himself and have a good life.
You tell him that being gay is sick and perverted and then you get him some counseling with a good, conservative minister.

It's you libtards and perverts that are eroding the fabric of society.

You really are a peice of work.
In most sports, cold-cocking an opposing player repeatedly in the face with a series of gigantic Slovakian uppercuts would get you a multi-game suspension without pay.

In hockey, it means you have to sit in the penalty box for five minutes.

I don't fit into your liberal/socialist/marxist/gay construct and that frightens you.

I added the Red Cross and Salvation Army to my list today. I added them in light of Hurricane Sandy.

The Salvation Army is always a good cause. They have little overhead and they pay their staff next to nothing, because they are committed to their work, not the pay.

I know that gay groups have issues with the SA, because they won't hire openly gay people to work for them. Yet, I have not heard of the SA treating gay people badly who come for help, nor have I heard of them denying services to someone who is gay. They might turn a gay couple or a single person of any sexual preference away from their shelter if their shelter is one for families, but I'll bet they'd find a shelter for the person who didn't specialize in families. There are good legal reasons for separating single homeless individuals from families in the shelter setting, separate from sexual orientation.

The Combined Federal Campaign lists the charities and the percentage that goes to charity vs administrative costs. It is very usful when deciding who is the best steward of your gift.
