The problem with Libya is that there is no real government, just a collection of militias and a prime minister who has about as much power over them as Obama does over the weather. In this case, it looks like one of the militias, an al Qaeda affiliate, conducted a carefully planned attack on the US. The PM apologized within minutes of the facts being presented to him, and he may actually take action against the bad guys, although it will not be easy for him to do it. If this weren't recurring all over the Middle East, it could be treated as an internal matter for Libya's security forces, but because this is simply one of many of these incidents, the real concern is where the next attack will overwhelm an embassy or consulate, and whether it results in a worse MASSCAL event, or a hostage situation. We need real leadership in the White House. Perhaps between fundraising trips, Obama might take a moment and sit in on one of his security briefings...?
