I dropped this note into the collection basket at my Mom's church today: "You do not have the right to make political statements during the Mass. A major tenet of the United States Constitution is separation of church and state, and you have crossed that clearly defined boundary of separation. Your tax-exempt status is at risk. The church does not have the right to tell parishoners how to vote, or even what criteria to use when voting. This is not the first time this has happened at (-name of church-) If this continues, you will be facing a lawsuit challenging your tax-exempt status. For now, we have decided to donate all the money we would have donated to (-name of church-) in the next 2 months to the No on 8 campaign, to reflect our support of same-sex marriage. After that, we will permanently donate all money that we would have donated to the Mission to Planned Parenthood instead. (-name of church-) will not get any of our money, ever again.
Why? Why not just not give your money? Why try to hurt others? Oh yeah, they're DUmmies, I forgot.

    98. Put a McCain sign on the front lawn of the church, take a photo, and send it to the media and the
    IRS.

That "evidence" added to enough complaints could have an effect. Probably not in time for this election, but for the future.
Well, if we hear of a church who is being investigated by the IRS, and they say that they did not have a McCain sign out front of the church we can always direct them here.

A lawsuit or a visit by the IRS to Democrat Underground :D should do the trick. The comments can be traced directly to them via IP addresses and usernames. (for reference see kernel)

Weaver would threaten to sue his own church for saying things he disagreed with, and also punish them for it by donating all the rest of their collection money to support of things Christianity views as an abomination?
It's the lib strategy: Sue first, ask questions later.

I assume this is a Roman Catholic church since this guy would have already been counseled to fish or cut bait in any orthodox Anglican or Lutheran church.

If so, then he is already outside a state of grace and unworthy to take communion until he receives absolution. The RCC is crystal clear on its positions involving abortion and homosexual behavior. These aren't negotiable points. Sadly, relatively few cultural Catholics have been instructed in their own faith enough to understand the RCC's theological argument here.

No matter how much you enjoy the artwork (unlikely in a contemporary RCC church) or the coffee club fellowship, if you are at odds with the fundamental or creedal doctrines of your faith, you need to either go along with it while believing that smarter authorities than you require it or you need to leave for a more congenial atmosphere.

DUmmie FUnnies posted a full version of the thread in question.
It was indeed a Catholic church, but Weaver is not a Catholic, he mentions that the only reason why he was even there was because his 89- year- old mother was physically incapable of driving to and from church (Which makes it all the more ridiculous that he should be criticizing the church and refusing to donate to it any more, considering that he wasn't a member and never donated to the church in the first place). He says that he tunes out the sermons and everything, yet he apparently was able to pick up a potentially offensive message in this particular sermon (Though nowhere in the thread does he say what particularly offended him that day, maybe the pastor said that it was wrong to abort babies or something).
Another DUmmie suggests that Weaver not only call the IRS on the church for alleged church- state violations, but also plant a McCain sign on the church grounds as a way of framing the church when it is investigated!
The DUmmies have no problem with breaking laws and slandering people and institutions, as long as doing so advances their twisted goals (Case in point: Their handling of Sarah Palin and her family).

Well, that makes him even more of a loser than I originally thought. I have been a guest in a lot of churches and some of them have held views that lit up my personal radar screen but so what? I was a guest, not a member.

Having genuine differences with a church and leaving it inspires a certain degree of respect for having the courage of your convictions. Petulantly causing trouble for a church you don't even belong to out of political spite is just cowardly and morally repulsive.

    AMEN.

Why the heck is he going to church in a place that he disagrees with anyways?
Kinda makes you wonder, doesn't it??
If leftists didn't have double standards, they'd have no standards at all.

Wasn't DUmmy Bob Weaver the one who originally posted the fake e-bay listing with the "prop" baby?
