Okay, mom has the medication excuse. She might be somewhat delusional, then the medicine removed her ability to restrain herself from acting on her delusions. My guess is that there is a reason beyond her lupus as to why she is not the custodial parent of the kid at the high school.
I don't know what the 3 adult daughters' excuses are.
