Let me correct you. It's generally true I feel like the value of teachers is overrated (because the responsibility of learning is on the students, and the parents). But please show me where I said "I didn't need teachers growing up because I learned a lot of stuff from shows like Sesame street." I did learn a lot from non-fiction books as a child. I preferred reading to playing to outside. Not really the same thing, is it?
