Except that it's not the same. If publishing the names and address of abortion doctors was against the law then everyone at the phone company and everyone that works at the printer that prints the yellow pages would be imprisoned.
The "Nuremberg Files" were found to be unprotected speech (after appeal) because of the "Wanted" posters with the lines through them. Publishing the names of murderers is not against the law.
Agreed. Between this and the FRC shooting, I'm wondering if some on the far left aren't feeling threatened, like their power is about to be taken away. It was always my belief that the left *usually* don't use violent for political reasons (exception would be international socialists, and it's been a while for them), but as of lately I'm seeing it more and more. My theory is that once a side loses power over a subject or thinks they will, extremists come out to threaten.
Read the post then read my reply.
This is disingenuous. Publishing the names and addresses of abortion doctors does not lead to the conclusion that it was done so to encourage their killing. The lines through the names was an issue. The courts ruled it was not protected speech. The group behind the publishing of the names and addresses could have continued to do so.This is just as intolerable as the "Army of God" publishing the names and addresses of abortion doctors, to encourage their killing.
This all differs from the OP because the nitwit in the OP actually said someone specific was going to get F'ed up.
