  1. #1 Dog Finds Severed Foot From A Child.
Dog brings child’s severed foot to Alabama home

    Monday, September 22, 2008

RUSSELLVILLE, Ala. — A family dog brought home a child’s foot, but searchers combing surrounding woods in northwest Alabama found no signs of any other remains and don’t know where the child might be.

No children have been reported missing, killed or maimed in or around Russellville. Police Chief Chris Hargett said investigators were studying missing persons reports from nearby areas and sent the severed foot for forensic tests in a bid to narrow the search.

The son of a homeowner spotted the family dog carrying something late Saturday and called his father, who then alerted police. Hargett said an orthopedic surgeon verified that the dog had dragged up a child’s bare foot, severed below the ankle.

The foot was found in a subdivision, Hargett said, and authorities on Sunday searched the area with cadaver-sniffing dogs without finding anything.

“A dog could have brought it so far and then another one got it,” Hargett said. “It could be miles away.”

He added that the foot appeared to have been outdoors only a few days, but he gave no immediate indication whether a child might be found alive or dead.

Searchers plan to head out again Tuesday with dogs in hopes that any scent from decomposing remains may be stronger by then, Hargett added.

I'll bet the dog was bummed when they took it away from him.

This has been on TV a lot down here; they are still not sure it is a human foot.
This is bigger than presidential politics. This is a battle for America.

    Oh shit -wrong thread!

Severed Foot Believed to Belong to Child Actually From Baby Bear

RUSSELLVILLE, Ala. — Tests on a foot believed to be from a child determined it actually was from a young bear, police said Thursday to end a mystery that prompted searches and worries in a northwest Alabama town.

Authorities spent two days searching for possible human remains after a dog showed up at home late Saturday with what appeared to be the severed foot of a young child. Officials feared a child had been killed and left in the woods.

But Police Chief Chris Hargett said forensics tests confirmed the object was most likely the paw of a young bear. He said the paw was similar enough to a human foot to fool an orthopedic surgeon who examined it and believed it belonged to a youngster.

"The great thing is it's not a child," he said. "The most unusual thing is that we've never heard of bears being in Russellville."

Russellville, with about 9,000 residents, is located in a heavily wooded, hilly corner of Alabama. Teams using cadaver-sniffing dogs searched for human remains for two days without finding anything.

"We've either got a three-legged bear wandering around or a dead one in the woods somewhere," Hargett said.

My kid's feet never looked like a bear's!

The one in Washington state was found to be a bear too. They must have very similar bone structure.

    I don't see it...

In actual dollars, President Obama’s $4.4 trillion in deficit spending in just three years is 37 percent higher than the previous record of $3.2 trillion (held by President George W. Bush) in deficit spending for an entire presidency. It’s no small feat to demolish an 8-year record in just 3 years.

Under Obama’s own projections, interest payments on the debt are on course to triple from 2010 (his first budgetary year) to 2018, climbing from $196 billion to $685 billion annually.
