Laws passed by Congress such as the Community Reinvestment Act required banks to make loans to previously underserved segments of their communities, thus forcing banks to lend to people who normally would be rejected as bad credit risks.

These governmental measures, combined with the Federal Reserve's loose monetary policy, led to an unsustainable housing boom. The key measure by which the Fed caused this boom was through the manipulation of interest rates, and the open market operations that accompany this lowering.
Kind of surprised to see this from CNN.

Republican Congressman Ron Paul endorses Constitution Party nominee Chuck Baldwin for President of the United States

Despite repeatedly saying that he would not endorse a particular candidate for this November's U.S. presidential electon, Republican Congressman Ron Paul made a surprise statement Monday afternoon in which he announced that he was supporting Constitution Party nominee Chuck Baldwin.

A new alliance: Ron Paul endorses Chuck Baldwin

September 23, 2008 by Ron Paul
    ..

The press conference at the National Press Club had a precise purpose. It was to expose, to as many people as possible, the gross deception of our presidential election process. It is controlled by the powerful elite to make sure that neither candidate of the two major parties will challenge the status quo.
Iíve thought about the unsolicited advice from the Libertarian Party candidate, and he has convinced me to reject my neutral stance in the November election. Iím supporting Chuck Baldwin, the Constitution Party candidate.
    There's a Youtube as well.

I see, well, McCain has a problem now. Bob Barr is now out of the race.

Baldwin has a decent shot of grabbing a few votes in PA and NH with Paul behind him.

He isn't. The Constitution Party is only on the ballot in 23 states, sadly. I wonder why Ron Paul wouldn't jump in the VP slot for this party?
Nothing helps a bad mood like spreading it around.
