Another fake bishop. Kind of like Romney only more ridiculous.
To paraphrase Rush Limbaugh: words have meanings. A bishop is consecrated in apostolic succession. You don't just declare yourself to be a bishop, nor do you decide that the head of a church is a bishop. They might as well call themselves Archbishop, Cardinal, or Pope.
By the way, back in the 1980's the Washington Post did an investigation into DC's preachers (who like to call themselves Doctor) and found out that many of their alleged doctorates were of the bogus variety.
Nice try at derailing the conversation, but no. And it's none of your business.Another fake bishop. Kind of like Romney only more ridiculous.
I think we're just starting to see the groundswell of revolt from the black community. They're finally starting to figure out that libs don't have their best interests in mind, and certainly don't share the same beliefs.
Now, if they can just start flipping the culture of dependency...
The Catholic church has their hierarchy of Bishops, Archbishops and Cardinals. Some protestant churches maintain a similar structure in their denominations-I think the United Methodist Church still uses the term Bishop for a regional director type of position.
The black protestant churches in the US have their own traditions, and their own denominations, to some degree. The AME and CME denominations are pretty much exclusively black churches. If a church is not part of the Roman Catholic church, they can use whatever terminology they choose to use. There are no rules against protestant churches calling their pastors "Bishop". They don't answer to the Catholic church and their rules and definitions. One denomination does not decide every other denomination's policies.
But why do you even care about this? I disagree with what this particular Bishop has to say, but I don't contest his right to use the title Bishop.
