Northeast CUers...keep an eye on this storm.

It's pretty powerful and COULD be up around the New Jersey area next week. Weird track that I'm
    sure will change a lot.

I heard it could land in DE or NJ, give or take 50 miles. It's been awhile since either of those places has had a severe pounding. How strong is this thing supposed to get?

Sandy's have always been storms waiting to happen. FEAR THEM!

Tough to say, it's already stronger than they 1st thought it'd get. It's bucking alot of shear and still holding it's own. It's
also moving pretty fast, near 20 mph. Good thing it's heading into cooler water or this one would be a monster.

Hurricane Sandy — continuing to head north and bearing down on the Bahamas this afternoon with 105 mph winds — could set a “historical precedent” along the East Coast, forecasters warn, if the worst were to happen early next week.

This October surprise mixes a cold front coming in from the west, Arctic air coming down from the north, a jet stream that will “capture” the storm, a full moon, plenty of leaves on the trees — and a wind-whipping Sandy.

It could all add up to $1 billion in damage, experts fear.

The Category 2 hurricane has also spawned a hash tag on Twitter — #SANDY — that is taking off.

“This is a very serious, powerful storm,” said meteorologist Charlie Foley with the National Weather Service in Taunton. “It has the potential to cause the loss of life.”

I hope everyone north of DC has their affairs in order as you will likely either drown in the rain or a tree will crush you.

    SR ...

Can't you just fire up the VRWC weather machine to have it take out the Wash. DC Dems and the RINOS in Congress ... and then just peter out? ...

Borrowing your little guy with his hair on fire ...

All kidding aside, this storm could become quite serious. Let's hope not!
