Ugh, the whole sesame street thing is such a non-issue. Its shameful that journalists latch on to such tripe.
- NPR, PBS, and seasame street do just fine with listener donations and other non-profit funding
- Even if they didn't, what taxpayers spend ends up being like 0.01% of our federal deficit. It's like having 50k/yr in increasing credit card debt and making an issue out of stopping your 50 cents/week chewing gum habit
- (I hope) Romney was just using sesame street as a metaphor for things in general the government shouldn't spend money, but he probably should have picked a issue that actually carries a price-tag. Like... I don't know... foreign aid to China.
- Romney needs to stop saying "I like...X" it sounds very unauthentic. But he doesn't really want to kill Big Bird, just like he didn't really want Detroit auto-manufacturers to be liquidated.
