Here is a coal barge on the Ohio River, today.

I note that they are flying the Gadsden flag.

Thanks, Marv. I plead innocence to the Gadsden flag, but went through the comments and found the answer:

    Lexington Green Says:
November 4th, 2012 at 4:49 pm Chris, I disagree about the Navy jack versus the Gadsden flag. The Gadsden flag has become a symbol of resistance to government power at this point. It is distinctive, it is noticeable at a distance. Both the color and the rattlesnake and the motto are elements that can be mixed with other things. Also, I just like the Gadsden flag more. I have always felt it was our second national flag after the stars and stripes, and it was especially the flag of freedom and resistance to tyranny. Results may differ for others.
It's good to see that the guys on the barge are flying the flag of resistance. Obama with his war on coal has to be wreaking havoc on the folks in coal country, not just the miners and the coal companies, but the barge industry. He's a typical elitist lib who doesn't have a knowledge or particularly care for people in the heartland.

I hope they turn out in droves to defeat Obama tomorrow. I hope the skinny little twerps teams of lib lawyers don't have a chance to challenge---that it's a landslide for Romney to send him and his people packing. (I hope someone counts the silver and art before they leave. Remember the Clintons).
