Well, one last post then off to bed.
2016 should in all rights be a cake walk after 21 trillion in debt, unemployment above 7% for 9 years, record high fuel cost, record high utilities, skyrocketing healthcare cost, my guess 2 even worse wars then Iraq and Afgan. (Egypt and Iran), and more scandals then Nixon, Clinton combined.
But who in their right mind would want to inherit that mess?Klaatu barada nikto

You bet.
I'm not going to vote for a Mormon.
I'm not going to vote for a Muslim.
I'm not going to vote for a Vatican minion.
I'm not going to vote for a Voodoo priest.
I'm not going to vote for a snake handler.
I'm not going to vote for a Hare Krshna.
If a candidate has to identify with a religion it should be an Episcopalian. Now that's traditional! While you were hanging yourself , on someone else's words
Dying to believe in what you heard
I was staring straight into the shining sun

Wishful thinking. Obama has received what, 50 million votes so far? 47 million now on food stamps? I don't expect to ever see another conservative, small-government pro business American president again in my lifetime, and I'm 24.
Hopefully the upcoming 12/21/12 Mayan Apocalypse (or great change as they describe it) is when half the country wakes up and finally demands to stop paying to support the other half. Wishful thinking again.

Pretty much sums you up.
Now Mormons and Catholics aren't so bad, and I'm an atheist. But I'll add; "I won't vote for a gay."
BTW, I understand that Reggie Lover is headed back to the WH after the requisite discrete absence. Did you notice their bb game in Chicago tonight - in a gym that had been forclosed?

Another? when's the last time the Republican Party nominated one? Reagan? :p
America will survive 4 years of Obama. Obamacare is an awful idea, and people won't stand for it. As soon as college age kids start getting fined by the IRS for not having insurance, there will be a Republican sweep and it will go the way of Prohibition and our children/grandchildren will read about it in the history books as another failed experiment. Hopefully the idiots who run the RNC will be gone in 4 years.
Consider this... Reagan did more to work with Democrats and make them feel a part of the conversation than Romney has done with Republicans from any wing of the party other than the "Rockefeller Republican" wing. Romney (and the RNC leadership) failed to build a conservative coalition. When you think about the composition of the Republican party... it's pretty diverse. You have neo-cons, libertarian wing, evangelicals, tea-party, and so forth. Republican leadership said "Screw you guys, you have to vote Republican. We don't have to listen to you. What, you want Obama to win?" This isn't an appealing message to people... it's insulting.
The RNC leadership made a gamble. That Obama was so bad in his first term they could completely write off not just Democrats and swing voters, but other Republicans. I followed the primaries. What most people do when they knock out a big opponent, isn't just get an endorsement. But start accommodating the positions in at least in some areas to keep those voters excited. When Obama won the nomination in '08 he seriously reached out to Hillary voters and convinced them. So he got an endorsement, went out of his way to mend fences, and then included her in his cabinet. Romney didn't do this at all... he had a "to the victor goes the spoils" attitude... but the spoils in this case are people. People aren't property; votes aren't property. So this isn't the fault of alienated Republicans. I mean... what's the final total going to be at? 332 to 206? Romney got crushed. This isn't about Gary Johnson or some fluke or Obama being a welfare president. This is about the Republican leadership not learning anything from 2008. They learned neither why Obama won, nor why McCain lost.Last edited by m00; 11-07-2012 at 03:41 AM.

Oh I agree things are going to get worse but the great experiment will survive a while longer. how much longer who knows but she is sick not dead.
The big blow is Obama getting a couple more USSC picks. He best get them in the next two yrs because the course he is on things aren't going to improve any and midterms could be a course correction. Democrats are expected to have 20 seats up for election, and Republicans are expected to have 13 seats up for election in the Senate. The 21st century. The age of Smart phones and Stupid people.
It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.
