Obama is in a trap of his own making and it will soon snap shut on him. If Romney had won he would have been caught by the same trap, and would have been blamed. I will explain.

If Obama continues to run up the national debt (Does anybody think he won't?) he runs the risk of economic collapse, and he will get the blame he so richly deserves.

If he tries to balance the budget he will have to impose austerity measures which will mean serious budget cuts to entitlement programs. He has greatly increased the number of people who are getting gov't handouts. Those folks have become dependent upon the gov't and will riot when the welfare checks bounce. They are his base and will be highly upset.

So he will be damned if he does, and damned if he doesn't, and the situation is his own doing. He can't blame it on Bush anymore.

If Romney had won, he would have had to choose austerity and he would be viewed with hostility as a mean man, instead of as a person trying to save America.

Obama made the mess. Let him have to deal with it and get the blame.

Four years from now the public will be throughly sick of Socialism - I hope.

I appreciate anybody who tries to make the best out of the shitty fucking situation, but this is really reaching. People don't give a fuck about the national debt. If they did, Obama would have been slaughtered. To them, it's an abstract number that is meaningless. It will never register with them until taxes skyrocket for everybody and the standard of living drops dramatically, which most economists agree is inevitable. Until then, more Americans care about condoms, dental dams and a puppet that lives in a garbage can.

Obama is Teflon when it comes to blame and responsibility. Even if he wasn't, 2016 is going to be an open race and the next Democrat will be completely indignant of any blame thanks to the retarded and electorate and the media; completely contrast from 2008 and Bush-McCain.

Obama has absolute free-range to destroy this country with zero consequences. Last night was the only chance to stop him and we failed.

I have been saying something similar. Romney was not the answer. Had he won and the economy tanked it would not have been blamed on Obama. It would have been a catastrophic setback for "Conservatism" that caused the collapse. With the Big O' at the helm it's his ship to either right the course or head over the falls with. When the economy comes crashing down, and it probably will, Socialism and Crony Capitalism won't get the time of day.

In 1929, the economy tanked, but began to recover. Roosevelt's New Deal prolonged the Great Depression and deepened it. The worst year of the Depression was 1937, well after Roosevelt's reelection, and the economy continued to stagnate until WWII took most of the men out of the workforce. However, Hoover is still blamed for the Depression. Democrats have spun the line that Bush caused the economic crisis of 2008, and will not tolerate any facts to the contrary. As Obama's policies make things worse, they will simply double down on their narrative. As long as the corrupt national media continues to shill for the Democrats, reform is going to be impossible.

Of course they do. They just didn't believe Romney had a plan.

There was something that Romney said in the debates that sums up his campaign pretty well. I forget the line, but he was asked a question and gave an answer that was completely irrelevant to the question. I think Santorum called him on it, and Romney goes something like "You ask the question you want, and I answer the question that I want. That's how it works."

Romney was repeatedly asked for budget specifics (what depts and programs, exactly, would you cut) and what he gave was vague principles. When pressed he seemed offended at the question, because obviously he needs to hammer out the details with Congress. Yeah, okay.

    This. Does. Not. Win. Elections.

that's because alot of what Bush did is directly responsible for it. As well as Clinton. And yes, Obama continued it far worse which is why we are still in a bigger hole. It's not spin, it called being objective.

Speaking of policies making things worse....

The DJIA is down 400 points and picking up steam...the S&P is below 1400 and there is a story on Drudge saying that Obama talking about levying a carbon tax to cut the deficit.

You are so very right. Things can only get worse and those responsible are incapable of admitting that what they are doing isn't helping.

If you think this is going to happen you are stark staring nuts. Let me tell you how the next 4 years is going to go. No matter how far into the crapper we go, the media is going to lay 100% of the blame at the feet of the Republican congress. The media will see to this. I suggest people start reading 1984. This is the world we're heading to.
