the only arrogance was on the part of the GOP leadership...and the RINO types Like Linda #'s who thought Mitt was the answer to our prayers.
It wasn't arrogance or an "our turn" attitude by the rank and file voters.
But that being said...it's awfully short sighted in your assessment to not include the complicit media...they were the best free advertising in the campaign for Obama 2012.

Yeah, I meant arrogance of the GOP leadership. The rank and file voters were put in a real bind, due to this arrogance.
But that being said...it's awfully short sighted in your assessment to not include the complicit media...they were the best free advertising in the campaign for Obama 2012.

Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness;
Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!
21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes
And clever in their own sight! Isaiah 5:20-21 NASB

Of course not. Voter turn-out historically is around 60% or less (no idea what it was for 2012) but it was 57.5% in 2008.
But just anecdotally, ever Democrat voter I know personally (family, friends, co-workers, etc) are all makers not takers. And they voted for Obama. We're talking people in the 60k+/yr income bracket... so solid middle class. They're not dumb, either. Or evil. Or filled with white guilt. It might come as a surprise, but perfectly rational, intelligent, productive people voted for Obama.

5 minute google search:

No rational hard working, tax paying person would nor did vote to re-elect Obama.
Then, how did he do it?
The short answer is – there are just more folks “on the take” then on the taxpaying “makers” who pay into the system.
The message is clear, Obama won because the "takers" (Democrats) outnumber the "makers" (Republicans). This is the impression I get from a lot of election post-mortems. You have a different interpretation of this narrative? Because that's how I read it.
All I'm saying is that this narrative is wrong, and dangerous.
