    That's pretty much it in a nutshell. Bill O'Reilly said after the election that if the economy goes into the crapper within the next 4 years, it could spell doom for the Democrat party. I say pshaw. As long as the GOP maintains control of the House, they will be scapegoated with anything and everything that goes wrong. As long as Obama has the media in his back pocket, which was painfully evident yesterday, the Democrats will be held blameless for anything that goes wrong. There is no denying this.
    The Obama Administration: Deny. Deflect. Blame.

    The fiscal cliff describes "the shock to the economy when we cut the deficit in half."

    Due to the deal that was struck, Defence and Medicare get deep, automatic cuts. I'm not happy about the "automatic defence cuts" but I tend to think federal deficit is probably a bigger national security threat at this point than state actors. This was the Sword of Damocles we hoped that we could hang over Congress to force them to balance the budget, but they haven't done so... and probably never will at this point until we replace the lot of them.

    So I say, lets go over the cliff.

    I think NJCF is right; the Dems are pretty good at positioning the GOP as the bad guys. The 1995 government shutdown is now fixed in people's minds as "The Republicans shut down the government because Newt Gingrich got a bad seat on Air Force One."

    People need to be educated. A govt shutdown would be a good thing. Even several of them, esp for this regime.

    As far as a "fiscal cliff"... we are already passed that now. "4 more years" saw to that. Too bad most cant see it for the nose on their faces.

    They deserve some of the blame. They also deserve some of the blame for the overall mess we are in. We will never get good leadership when our first instinct is to hand out blame by party id.

    Bring on the fiscal cliff.

    Yeah, we'll get blamed for whatever comes down the pike.
    But we Republicans have done a fair share of damage to ourselves, so we made it pretty easy for the Democrats. They can run successfully in a lot of areas simply by not being a Republican.

    Yeah, did you SEE that?! We've got people being killed, officials resigning, questions about honesty, Iran developing nukes, Israel taking rocket fire, and the reporter says:

    *Hi, Mr President (Blush)

    # Hi, Reporter. You were there with me in Chicago.

    * Yaaaaas, I've never seen you lose (blush).................um...Have you met with Mitt Romney yet?

    And this lightweight calls herself a journalist.
