    A major university (lots of cultural and educational opportunities), nice places to live for modest amounts of money (compared to DC), a good climate, and plenty of reasons for people to stay with us when they come to see the area. Why does it seem like a bad idea to you? You don't have to wear colonial costumes, you know. :)
