    My first road trip was in 1965. I went from Norfolk, VA to San Francisco, and they gave me 8 weeks to get there. Paid me 6 cents a mile, too, for expenses.

    8 track? Not invented yet. For that matter my 56 Chev convertible didn't have an FM radio because cars didn't generally come with them.

    I could go on and on about that road trip. That one was an adventure, and when it ended, another cropped up. And another. Road trips for me went on and on until I had been to 49 states and driven something over something like 3 million miles. Then I retired. Sometimes I miss the road.

    I think I'd like one of these for next road trip. We'd go to Canada. And Alaska. And Key West.
