GOP Possibly Surrendering on Tax Hikes

Is there anyone here that doubts the house will cave to Obama, anyone? I new the instant Obama was reelected that the house would fall, that is one of many reasons why I said winning the house was meaningless, we would have caved if we had the senate also, the party is done.
It was either win the presidency or kiss the republic good bye.

By the way , I heard over a million republicans wrote Jesus in on their ballot as a protest vote, someday they will have to explain to him why.

Personally I hope they (republicans) hold their ground. If all taxes go up then spending cuts can be negotiated to pay for any tax cuts. We made that mistake once and Bush gave us a pile of debt. Lets not make that mistake again. As for voting for Jesus...why trade one socialist for another?

The fact that Christ chastised the Jews over their desire for his Kingship does in no way indicate that people you and I perceive as throwing their votes away are defying God.

He also told us to be in the world but not of the world and to not be troubled by the things of man. We are to obey the government and pray for wisdom for our leadership. I suppose Christ would want us to vote based on our Christian conscience but what if someone's conscience precludes them from voting for Obama and from voting for a member of what they perceive to be a cult. Are they to vote our way because we feel no spiritual mandates stopping us for voting for Romney?

One of the reasons I reduced my involvement on the message boards was that I came to believe that the more time I spent worrying about politics was time that I could be better spent working on my relationship with my Father. I vote based on my Christian conscience but I understand that all outcomes fill God's wishes, not mine. I still like to have a conversation about politics or society but I try not to spend a hell of a lot of time worrying about what the world is doing other than to prepare. God's in control and I will do what I feel he wants me to do. I feel he wants me to vote and to use the wits he gave me to figure out who I am to vote for (this one was a no brainer). On the other hand I can't say with any conviction that he didn't tell a million people to vote for Jesus.

When will our congressmen realize the only way out of this hole is to reform spending on BOTH the military and social programs?

Okay, I can't believe I'm having to explain this, but here it is: THEY DON'T CARE.

There is no recovery from this economic hole we're in. The Republicans don't have the will or the votes to do anything about it, and the Dems are actually excited about it and anxious to dig us deeper.

I suggest everyone batten down the hatches, because it's going to get ugly. All we're doing now is waiting for the straw that breaks the camel's back.

Like I keep saying, the republicans should give Obama everything he wants. This way when things continue to go to shit, there's no one to blame but the president. If the republicans hold and things go to shit, they will be held responsible and be blamed for the mess.
